How to delete your account
Last updated: 2026-05-26
You can request deletion of your Midwest BJJ account at any time. This removes your profile, attendance records, belt history, billing history, and any other data we hold about you. We honour the same request whether you came in through one of our mobile apps, the web portal, or by contacting the gym directly.
From the app or web portal
- Sign in to app.midwestbjj.org/portal or open one of our mobile apps.
- Open My profile.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete my account.
- Enter your current password and type
DELETEto confirm.
Once confirmed, your account is signed out across every device immediately. Any active membership subscription is cancelled right away — you won’t be billed again.
30-day grace window
Accounts marked for deletion enter a 30-day recovery window. During this period you can sign in with your existing email and password and choose Restore my account to undo the deletion.
After 30 days the recovery option is removed and we permanently delete your records. The front desk cannot recover data once the purge runs.
What we keep
We retain limited information after deletion only where required by law — primarily invoices and tax records, which our accountants must keep on file. These are stored separately from your member profile and are not used to identify or contact you.
By email
If you can’t reach the in-app flow, email legal@midwestbjj.org from the address on file. We’ll verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Data we delete
- Account credentials (email, password hash, sessions on every device)
- Profile (name, phone, DOB, photo, emergency contacts, medical info)
- Attendance, belt rank, belt history, curriculum progress
- Push notification tokens
- Stored payment methods (Stripe customer record dereferenced)
- In-app notifications and message history with the gym
